Team Yankee: The Rules By CaulynDarr. Team Yankee pre-calculates most of the tedium from 3rd ed for you and slaps them onto slick new unit cards. What used to be a combination of detailed core rules, plus nation rules, plus army rules, plus unit rules has been reduced to just target die rolls on a unit card. It's a strategy and simulation game, set in a historical battle (specific/exact), tank, licensed title, vehicular combat simulator, wargame and cold war themes and it was released on Amiga and Atari ST as well. Continuing with my pre-competition practice games, this weekend I set up the Team Yankee 'Free for All' scenario. With both sides starting off with all platoons on table, I was anticipating that this would be suited to my rather imbalanced Tank Heavy Soviet force - it can be vulnerable to air if the AA platoons don't come on in the first 3 moves The cards are going to include all of the statistics on the front as well as some easily identifiable photography so you can pick out what's what on the battlefield. On the reverse will also be the special rules for each unit. This is very much playing into the idea of Team Yankee being a more accessible game for historical wargamers to get into. 'Nam and Fate of a Nation are also being updated to V4/Team Yankee too and they will be pulling in, finally!, plastic T55s. I'm hoping for T62s! But that will only be if they move the timeline up to 1973. If they do that we can go pretty retro with Team Yankee with M60s, Chieftains, and Leo Is going up against T55s and T62s. Pretty cool.
